We were at SEMA / AAPEX 2010 in Las Vegas last week and one of the cool things we saw was Ken Block’s new Fiesta.
The Gymkhana Three Fiesta was built by the same team that produced his Monster World Rally Team hatch, and includes a boosted 2.0-liter four-pot capable of 850 horsepower (de-tuned with a restrictor plate to output 650 hp in the name of tractability) and 660 pound-feet of torque. Partnered with a Olsbergs Motorsport-developed MSE Maktrak six-speed sequential transmission and powering all four wheels, the new Gymkhana contender will hit 60 mph in two seconds flat and according to Block, can “handle loose, while still providing complete control.”

Sam Hubinette has started his own racing team, Samuel Hubinette Racing, given his title-winning Dodge Viper to team driver Andrew Comrie-Picard and picked up a shiny Dodge Challenger for himself. The team went out to Adam’s Motorsports Park in Riverside, California to shake everything down, and the result is a couple of orange blurs and a lot of smoke.
Last night’s Thursday Night Drift is featured on the blog at WreckedMagazine.com. Last night was crazy, with Formula D star Ken Gushi drifting an AE86 Corolla, and with a great tandem competition at the end between Riley Cahill and Enrique Mendoza.
